The first Russian freight train entered the country via the Turkmenistan rail route through the Inchebrun border and was welcomed by the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways officials and the port managers at Bandar Khosk, located twenty kilometers from Tehran.
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Agency, the first Russian freight train entered Iran today, passing through the Turkmenistan railway and the Inchebron border, and after traveling north to the center of the country, it docked at Bandar Khosk.
The train is carrying a cargo of pulp, which will be sent for distribution to various destinations across the country after being unloaded at the port. The arrival of this train is a clear sign of the expansion of transport and transit cooperation between Iran and Russia and the strengthening of regional rail corridors between the two countries.
The Bandar Khosk , which has been operational since June of this year, has now received its 31st incoming train and is playing an increasing role in the country’s goods distribution and transit network. The development of transportation infrastructure at this port has paved the way for increasing international transit capacity and facilitating rail trade between countries in the region.
